I don't understand the details of politics around this, and
I agree that the TmL case is to be treated like an initial
committer nomination, and I respect Doug's opinion.

But it doesn't feel right to have zero committer diversity
on this project. Are new projects allowed to start at
Eclipse these days with committers all from one company?

Arguably, having to submit / apply patches is more painful
for release engineering work than for contributing code,
so I do see some urgency behind this.

For the MTJ case, I will want to see how the current MTJ
committers (which are more diverse AFAIK) deal with the 
nomination before I cast my PMC vote.
