RE: [dsdp-pmc] dsdp & CDT logos

I like it! We'll definitely be the most popular project, and we'll live up to the "free beer" mantra.

make that "beer mug" not "beer bug" (I must have one too many last night).

I also prefer a single icon.

FWIW: within TI there is often quoted "statistic" that the average engineer interacts with over 300 embedded CPUs between waking up and sitting down at their desk at work each morning. Over 100 of these are in you car (engine control, braking systems, navigation aids, climate control, radio, key fob, ...). But there are many others: home thermostats, garage door openers, toll road and intersection sensors, security systems (possibly at home, certainly at work), ... Oh yea, your mobile phone has a few too ;)

By shear volume of embedded CPUs, one can argue that a car would be the most appropriate icon. On the other hand, the number of embedded CPUs involved in the production, inventory control, and transport, and point of sale equipment for beer certainly exceeds that of a single car. So I guess the beer bug really is the best choice: +1 for beer bug :)

+1 on a single icon for all projects. I don't actually care what the logo consists of (phone, IC, beer mug), so long as we are all using it.

Hi Folks,

remember where the dsdp logo is to be used: on the about dialog of any product that uses any dsdp technology. I see it's primary use in drawing people to the Eclipse.org pages for DSDP, and find their way into the projects from there. Since DSDP is related to pulsar, even a single logo for both may make sense.

Having too many different dsdp logos won't help us much I think.
I'm in favor of a single logo for all DSDP, and I'm fine if it's the Eclipse ball overlaid with a mobile phone icon.

The Pulsar logo can of course also utilize a mobile phone icon which may be the same as dsdp but may also be slightly different.

What do Dave/RTSC and Shigeki/NAB think about this? Other than TmL, MTJ and Blinki these are less related to mobile...

Cheers,
