RE: Declined: [dsdp-pmc] DSDP - PMC Meeting

Title: RE: Declined: [dsdp-pmc] DSDP - PMC Meeting

Mika -

I'm not the PMC lead, and I do understand that you've got a lot
of work besides Eclipse, but pardon me:

this meeting has been scheduled almost a month ago. All other
project leads were able to reply and pick a proper date or move
other assignments to be able and participate. On previous occasions,
some of us even called in during their holidays in order to participate.

We have PMC meetings once a month or less frequently. The PMC
is important in order to coordinate our efforts, especially for community
building. A community around a project is what really keeps it alive,
and we should care for our communities -- in fact it's one of the most
important points that are part of the Eclipse Development Process
and the Eclipse Release Reviews.

Of course it's your project, and it's yours to decide how you want to
manage it. But I do think that the brand Eclipse also stands for key
values like quality, openness and community.

It seems you do want to be part of Eclipse and leverage some of the
advantages that Eclipse.org gives over just another Sourceforge project.
Wouldn't that warrant more caring for the community?

Cheers,
