I tried to delete BIRT last year, but there are still dependencies on small parts of it, and those are still there:

The BIRT aggrcon needs to be removed. BIRT dropped out, so their aggrcon should be deleted, please. 

I'm not sure why USSSDK uses something other than aggrcon files. Is there somebody from the project who can help us understand what's going on here?

Eclipse ACTF team was--the last time I looked--still paying attention. It's probably time for somebody to check in with some of our quieter participants to make sure that they're still there.

I've removed Eclipse CFT from the 2020-09 participation page.

The AERI p2 repo was being picked up from https://download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/logging/milestones/ - see https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/simrel/org.eclipse.simrel.build/+/170952 for the change that removed it from SimRel.

There are a few other aggrcon files that are perhaps a little dated.

enabled aggrcon files with no edits in 2020:
- actf - project has a few commits in 2020, just no more recent release or contribution to simrel
- birt - there is long history here that I am not revisiting[1]
- usssdk[2] - project has a few commits in 2020, just no more recent contribution to simrel

disabled aggrcon files:
- cft - project lead withdrew project from simrel:  https://www.eclipse.org/lists/cross-project-issues-dev/msg17808.html
- emf-diffmerge - project lead withdrew project from simrel: https://www.eclipse.org/lists/cross-project-issues-dev/msg17434.html
- emf-parsley - gets disabled and reenabled in every release cycle: Bug 567817

Can we just delete the disabled aggrcon files (Except emf-parsley)? If so, can you or someone else +1 https://git.eclipse.org/r/c/simrel/org.eclipse.simrel.build/+/171096

[1] ...but the current birt p2 repo contributes a bunch of old orbit content to simrel that cause problems like Bug 499207 (Obsolete certificates) - in light of Bug 553288 which may make even more of the certificates out of date we may need to revisit this again before 2020-12 release. The birt p2 repo is practically a simrel of its own, it includes lots or orbit, eclipse platform, datatools, and lots of other stuff. Generally this is not a problem, but the orbit project publishes bundles with the same fully qualified version that differs only in signature. So there are multiple bundles out there which are not binary equal but have the same version.

[2] usssdk has some inconsistent participation info, https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/technology.usssdk/releases/2.0.0 shows as particpating in a bunch of simrels that I don't think it did based on the aggrcon

[3] ldt is listed in participation for 2019-12, but it didn't: https://projects.eclipse.org/projects/tools.ldt/releases/1.4.2

I am now removing it. Therefore AERI is officially no longer part of SimRel.

BTW - this came up again because the AERI repo is contributing an old version of org.apache.commons.lang3 to simrel causing some users to get certificate errors when they install components (such as PDT). See Bug 568003 and Bug 499207. Note that Scout is also contributing the same old version, but they have fixed it on their current dev branch, so I hope to see that in SimRel soon, see Bug 568001.

Maybe is it time to remove it from EPP?

Update sites are still present, so end users who want to use a newer version still can.
