Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Withdrawing EMF Diff/Merge from simrel

I am withdrawing from simrel. The follow-up exchange with Eike was about how the project will be organized once outside the simrel.

I'm confused. Are you withdrawing from the simrel, or just not contributing new bits to the 2020-03 release? i.e., is it more the case that your contribution to the 2020-03 release is the same as your contribution to the 2019-12 release?

I agree it was not very clear. With the old train cadence we used to target two "main" releases per year, one in Spring for the main simrel and one in Autumn. The idea we have is to keep the yearly 20XX-06 simrel as our reference platform but take some more time for testing and validation, so our Autumn release becomes the only main one (but we keep issuing service releases as needed).

I'm not impacted in any way, but I wonder about your statement "where the main release occurs in October/November as
usual". At least for Simrel the "main" release used to be the June release.
