Jonah,

Thanks so much for fixing this promptly!  And for taking over this essential role/work!!  Sorry about the M1 typo; my email sending is not yet automated. :-P

I didn't see that anyone else has explicitly stepped up to do this the next time.  Has the rotating schedule actually been established or are you now the only person in the rotation?

Jonah, would you please share the page documenting work. IMHO we need to appoint EPP lead (aka the guy assigning shifts) now.

All,

I've opened https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=559937 because the installer links are currently missing from all download pages. :-(  Perhaps this was caused by infrastructure outages yesterday.

Regards,
Ed

Thanks Ed for pointing that out.

I assume that meant to say M2 is missing. M2 is there now - but there is some instability with Eclipse infra: https://status.eclipse.org/

The step is in the instructions, it was just missed. I plan on separating out what has to happen on different days on the TODO list as it is organized a bit on type of task instead of when. The step is on the to be automated list.

Guys,

Please add "testing the repos" to the list of things to do...

Currently /home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/packages/2020-03/compositeContent.jar contains:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<?compositeMetadataRepository version='1.0.0'?>
<repository name='EPP 2020-03' type='org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.metadata.repository.CompositeMetadataRepository' version='1.0.0'>
  <properties size='3'>
    <property name='p2.timestamp' value='1579274947261'/>
    <property name='p2.compressed' value='true'/>
    <property name='p2.atomic.composite.loading' value='true'/>
  </properties>
  <children size='1'>
    <child location='M1'/>
  </children>
</repository>

Note the missing M1.  This means no one will install when using purely the train repository URL.

Also, currently /home/data/httpd/download.eclipse.org/releases/2020-03/compositeContent.jar contains this:

<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?>
<?compositeMetadataRepository version='1.0.0'?>
<repository name='Eclipse Repository' type='org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.artifact.repository.CompositeMetadataRepository' version='1.0.0'>
  <properties size='3'>
    <property name='p2.timestamp' value='1313779613118'/>
    <property name='p2.compressed' value='true'/>
    <property name='p2.atomic.composite.loading' value='true'/>
  </properties>
  <children size='4'>
    <child location='../../technology/epp/packages/2020-03/'/>
    <child location='202002071000' />
    <child location='202001171000' />
  </children>
</repository>

Note size is 4 but there are only 3 entries; I'm not sure if this is a big problem.  Also I suggested removing the trailing / from repository references.  I believe p2 will tend to load the repository twice if there is URI with a trailing / and one without, because they're different URIs...

In the end, all this would be better if it were better automated...

Regards,
Ed

Hi everyone,

our next milestone build is available for testing: EPP 2020-03 M2

This is our first build since Markus has retired from the EPP project. Thank you Markus for the guidance you have provided and the past many years of EPP stewardship.

Please let me know if you find anything amiss in the M2 so that it can be corrected for M3. I am documenting the process and will publish that soon.

Finally, thank you to Renesas for supporting my time on this project.

 https://ci.eclipse.org/packaging/job/simrel.epp-tycho-build/853/artifact/org.eclipse.epp.packages/archive/

with the p2 repositories at

  http://download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/packages/2020-03/M2

Please test and send your +1 to this mailing list.

Thank you for testing!

Jonah
