I used the embedded Maven, 3.5.3 in 2018-12, 3.6.1 in 2019-06. macOS 10.14.6.
all attempts to build the 2018-12 EPP package failed with OpenJDK 12, but after installing Oracle JDK 1.8 221, I managed to build both the EPP packages and my plug-ins with the 2018-12 Eclipse. the 2018-12 EPP package build also failed with the 2019-06 Eclipse.

I don't know exactly where the problem lies, but it seems that the JDK is a moving target, and I'd not be surprised to learn that maven too. and I don't understand Oracle policy on Java, to me it looks like they want to kill it.
thus I confess that my interest in Java went down to almost none, and I'm migrating all my projects to node.js.
