Subject: Re: [cdt-dev] When's the next CDT release?

Hi Doug and all,

I've just joined cdt-dev on behalf of an Intel group working on Yocto tooling in Eclipse/CDT.  The intention is that we will contribute to, support, and test the Docker work begun by Jeff Johnston [1].

FWIW, our hope and desire is that this work can be in 9.4 and initially released in Sept 2017, as we know there will be Yocto consumers wanting to use it in the fall.  We will provide as many resources as we can to assist in helping that happen.   So +1 for Sept wrt the Docker container work.

Thanks Scott, welcome!

Well, to make that happen, the whole CDT needs to be ready. I’d love if we had the resources to help make that happen.

Doug.

Hey gang,

We discussed this at the call yesterday. We’re wondering whether the next minor (feature) release, I.e. 9.4, should be in September or December. We had discussed this earlier but it’s probably now time to decide.

There are a few things happening feature-wise, in particular the Docker remote project stuff Jeff is working on, Nate and his ever improving C++ language support, and other work happening on the CMake front, amongst other things. Are these things we want out in September?

Thanks,
Doug.
