both work as expected, on macOS 10.12 I can start a QEMU debug session and the qemu-system-gnuarmeclipse console is visible and functional.

with Eclipse 4.6.2.v20161124-1529 + CDT 9.2.0.201612061315 the qemu-system-gnuarmeclipse console is no longer visible, but internally it somehow exists since the debug session runs as expected.

given the above results, I guess the problem is in CDT 9.2, and somehow related to the change in console processing.
