To close on this issue. I got access to the simrel repo now. However, after discussing the solution with Marc-Andre, we decided that we don’t need to make
changes in the simrel. The simrel file for CDT already points to
http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/builds/luna/milestones which is correct for 8.5. The issue is that I hadn’t updated the two composite*.xml files in that location to point to our 8.5 build, so it wasn’t picked up for the EPP. I have now updated them
and will continue updating them as our 8.5 RC builds progress. This also means that people can install the latest milestone for CDT Luna by using the above link directly.
We’ll have to update the entry in simrel once 8.6 (Luna SR2) is released, so we can point it to our Mars milestones.
I’ll add some info on our build engineering wiki about this.
Thanks
Marc

Yes, but the staging update site is built by the planning council, not the EPP. At the end of the day, the projects decide what goes into the the simrel repo.
Which brings us here. :).
I’ll take a look at the patch this afternoon. We have until the RC3 builds start again to get this in. And we should give Marc write access to the git repo if
he doesn’t already. I’m now sure how they determine who has it since it’s not owned by a project.
I thought EPP was built from the staging update site which is built using the simrel git repo. I probably got this wrong :)

Oh, simrel. That’s actually not an EPP thing. Let’s continue this on the cdt-dev list.
It doesn't look like gerrit is enabled for simrel
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=422215
If you push it to Gerrit, I’ll review and push it.
C/C++ has the Luna SR0 version (8.4), it should be 8.5. Is it too late to fix? I don't have commit rights for the simrel repo but
I attached a patch.
