Re: [cdt-dev] Vote for Committer status for Patrick Chuong was started by Pawel Piech

Patrick also has accepted patches in Debug Platform. I think those should
be considered as well, given how tightly our code is coupled to the
platform APIs and logic, and given the complexity of that code.
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=306768
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=303671
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=286310
As for one-line fixes, I've had my share of multi-day troubleshooting
sessions in complex code, the fix to which ended up one or two lines of
code. What we need in a comitter is not only has good coding skills, but
good troubleshooting and analytical skills. Patrick has a very long
record of
contributions in varying forms to CDT and the Debug
Platform, and that work (which I have looked at, btw) has proven to me
that not only is he deeply familiar with the code, but that he has
motivation, judgment, diligence and technical skills that CDT would
greatly benefit from.

In this list there are 4 one liners, some patches are not even a source
patches - but screenshots, and some just stylistic changes. There is only
like 2 bugs which has some-what substantial code and it is definitely not
enough
to grant a commiter rights... Am I wrong?

tools.cdt Committers,
- This automatically generated message signals that Pawel Piech has
nominated
- Patrick Chuong as a Committer on the tools.cdt project. The reason
