The work around maven.eclipse.org is still in its early stages. It is a community-led effort at this point, and AFAIK, the requirements are still evolving.

We're looking for Maven-savvy folks to help with the requirements. It'd be helpful if you can help by discussing your requirements in bugs filed under Dash/Maven.
