I totally agree with Jesse. Have been using asciidoc for years and the more I am being forced to work with markdown and recently rst the more I appreciate asciidoc. Luckily I work on a book for OReilly using asciidoc at the moment ;-)

A good standard would be great for tooling and general advancements in the community,

Not sure I see much Jetty can do outside of being a user here but I have had a soft spot for this area for a long time so will be chiming in where it seems appropriate!
