Hi !

I'm using Eclipse Juno. I installed Xtext and EMF . I wanted to install EMF Incquery , but I couldn't . I had to remove EMF first. It would be better if this wouldn;t happen. Anyway , I do not understand the following fact:

I download Eclipse Juno , I install Ecore Tools and than I want to install EMF Incquery . There is an error : I am missing something from Xtext. I install Xtext and after I try to install IncQuery again , I have a conflict with Xtext. So , I remove Xtext . I install Incquery again and it works. I do not understand what actually happens. On Eclipse Luna it works perfectly .

Thank you.

Hi Made Leine,

The current version of EMF-IncQuery requires Xtext 2.6 that relies on EMF 2.10 (both are a newer version than the ones available from the Juno repository). While clearly it is possible to install these versions of EMF and Xtext, it is possible that they are in conflict with the Ecore Tools installation from Juno (we have not tested this, although I do no see why such conflict should present).

So my suggestions are two-folds:
1. Try to check what version of EMF are installed _after_ Ecore Tools is installed (or versions). This might give some clue about what happens in the background.
2. Try to install newer versions of Ecore Tools. If you already have diagrams created with Ecore Tools, be careful not to install Ecore Tools 2, as it cannot handle your old models (it is a complete rewrite of the old codebase with a different format).

I hope, some of this has helped,
Zoltán

The Xtext from Juno repository is 2.3.1 . I understand now. Thank you for your answer!

Hi,
Just so you know your documentation isn't correct with respect to installation. It is stated in a few places that the update site links are available at http://eclipse.org/incquery/download.php but this is not the case. That link goes to http://git.eclipse.org/c/incquery/org.eclipse.incquery.git/about/

I found the update site links at http://www.eclipse.org/incquery/download.php

Regards,
Ronan

Hi Ronan,

thanks for pointing out the issue. Sadly, it was not entirely clear to me where the original issue was. I found the description in http://git.eclipse.org/c/incquery/org.eclipse.incquery.git/about/ and updated it right now.

Can you please share whether this was where you found the problematic link or maybe somewhere else as well?

Thank you again,
Zoltán
