We've been in touch with some teachers at the University of A Coruña
(Spain) and we currently have one student interested in writing his master
thesis around Q for Eclipse.

The project this student will be using for his master thesis is something
we will have to decide, so I would like to get your input on this. Bear in
mind that the work must be doable for a last year student in no more than
3 months, but it must be some kind of challenge so it gets rewarded with a
high mark :-).

At the moment, we have these lines open... please suggest additional ones,
add detail, desired features, or just recommend any of them.

- Buckminster (http://www.eclipse.org/buckminster/) integration: Since
Buckminster can materialize projects in the workspace, and maven has the
information on the pom, the work would be to make both pieces work
together to provide features like:
-- Materialize dependency as workspace project
-- Search and materialize arbitrary artifacts (integrated with the
artifact search framework)

- Mylyn (http://www.eclipse.org/mylyn/) integration: The maven pom has
issue tracker information that could be used to automatically add it to
the mylyn list of task repositories. Also, the use of the degree of
interest filtering would be explored on q4e features.

- Social network and communications: Use the information available in the
pom about committers and contributors to allow contacting the authors of a
dependency, or its support list. Integrating ECF
(http://www.eclipse.org/ecf/) for real-time chat, editor sharing and other
ECF features could also be included.

Of the three options, I think that the first one would be the most
desirable, since the Buckminster team has already shown interest in
working with q4e.

As a note, if you have contacts on your faculties (or you're a student),
you might also want to let them know about this possibility.
