Hi there,

I was trying to follow the installation description for the buckminster headless product, but when i try to install it with the p2 director, the following error appears:

Installing org.eclipse.buckminster.cmdline.product 1.1.350.r10798.
An error occurred while collecting items to be installed
 session context was:(profile=Buckminster, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.provisional.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).
 No repository found containing: binary,org.eclipse.buckminster.cmdline.product.executable.carbon.macosx.ppc,1.1.350.r10798

This happens on a PowerPC MacOSX 10.4. Can anyone help me on this?

Hi Marian,
I think this is caused by the same reasons that is behind https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=291045 "Can't
create OS X x86_64 Cocoa Launcher".

I've raised the priority on that bug.

Hi Marian,
Good news. I managed to create a workaround for the bug. The fix is available in the latest PDE
feature at our http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/updates-3.5 (or headless-3.5).

Hi Thomas,

I don't know if I am doing anything wrong but it still doesn't install. I am following the steps on the Buckminster Download site. the direcotr is still coming up with the same error as above (and the same release to install: r10798). When I download the entire headless site (version r10819, link from the Buckminster Download site) the carbon binary files still have a file size of 0KB. Is there anything else I can do?

Hi Marian,
What update site are you using? The feature to look at is our PDE support feature. What revision do
you see for that?

We have tested and verified this on a Mac so it's surprising that it doesn't work for you.

I'm following the steps on http://www.eclipse.org/buckminster/downloads.html ...

Literally I do this after unzipping the director_latest.zip:

ma1232:~/director harbach$ sudo ./director -r http://download.eclipse.org/tools/buckminster/headless-3.5/ -d /Volumes/UserData/UserHomes/harbach/buckminster/ -p Buckminster -i org.eclipse.buckminster.cmdline.product
Installing org.eclipse.buckminster.cmdline.product 1.1.350.r10798.

Aha. That makes sense :-)
I though you got errors trying to build a MacOS/X product. So I fixed that but I haven't rebuilt our
own product with the fix included. Doh!

I'm doing that now. Should be OK in an hour or so.

Hi Marian,
My fix didn't work well with builds that didn't name the launcher (we don't since we don't use an executable launcher).
I've fixed this now and a new build is in progress. If all goes well it should be available in an hour or so.
