The Eclipse Runtime Analysis Tools project proposal has now been posted. You can find it at http://www.eclipse.org/proposals/tools.rat/

I love the acronym Smile Hopefully we can get a great logo for it down the road.

Nice proposal and nice contribution to Eclipse.

What namespace do you plan to use? "org.eclipse.rat"? (I'm mostly
curious about the "org.eclipse..." part ... since this code has existed
outside of Eclipse).

You don't mention or compare other Eclipse projects. I think it would
improve the proposal a little, if you did, For example, MAT?
http://www.eclipse.org/mat/

And, of course, TPTP ... http://www.eclipse.org/tptp/ ... even though it
has said it plans to go through an archival proposal, it would be
interesting to know how RAT compares to it ... just some brief
"education" or "expectation setting" to the Eclipse community, since
some might be familiar with or current users of TPTP or MAT, so some
short (and easy) comparisons would be nice (or, opportunities for
synergy?). (I mention "easy" explicitly since I know a detailed
comparison or study could take lots of work ... and I wanted to be sure
you knew I was not asking for that for your proposal ... just something
brief and high level ... at least acknowledge these other projects).

I think the project's tools will immediately be useful to many Eclipse
users, and it will be interesting to see if/how others might extend it
to other languages or environments.

Thanks,

yes, we are planning to use org.eclipse.rat name space.

I added few additions covering relationship with MAT/TPTP to proposal(Relationship with Other Eclipse Projects section)
