Memory Analyzer (MAT)
The Eclipse Memory Analyzer is a fast and feature-rich Java heap analyzer that helps you find memory leaks and reduce memory consumption. Use the Memory Analyzer to analyze productive heap dumps with hundreds of millions of objects, quickly calculate the retained sizes of objects, see who is preventing the Garbage Collector from collecting objects, run a report to automatically extract leak suspects. |

- 22 June 2011, Memory Analyzer Released Version 1.1.0 Memory Analyzer 1.1.0 Release is now available for download. This version is part of the Indigo simultaneous release. Have a look at the New and Noteworthy document.
- April 2010, Memory Analyzer Graduated and Moved to Tools In April 2010 the Memory Analyzer project had a successful graduation review and is not any longer in the Incubation phase. After graduation the project moved from the Technology top-level project into the Tools top-level project.
- Memory Analyzer now supports IBM System Dumps and Portable Heap Dumps Memory Analyzer 0.8 includes a Diagnostic Tool Framework for Java (DTFJ) adapter, which together with a DTFJ feature from IBM, enables the Memory Analyzer to read DTFJ formatted system dumps and Portable Heap Dumps. Supported are dumps from IBM JDK 1.4.2 SR12, 5.0 SR8a and 6.0 SR2 and greater.
