The tircky part is to find the mentors, so if you know somebody in the
Architecture Council
http://www.eclipse.org/org/foundation/council.php
just bug them until they agree to mentor the project ;)
I plan to do it too next week at EclipseCON

Well, the release is for q4e, which is intended to be the initial source
contribution for the project. I'll announce releases here too if you're
interested, but I feel a little like cross-posting.
IAM is, by no means, dead. It just awaiting the community to show its
support to the initiative (in this forum, by eclipse rules... ).

When will q4e code base migrate to eclipse.org?
What are we waiting for? legal review? community input? or what?

We are in the proposal phase... no code can be contributed until we move
to the incubation phase.
The objective of this phase is:
The proposers, in conjunction with the destination PMC and the community,
collaborate in public to enhance, refine, and clarify the proposal.
Mentors for the project must be identified during this phase.

So we are essentially gathering a community around q4e in several ways
(for example, Carlos will be talking about it at Eclipse Con) while
searching for mentors.
What can you do to help?
Tell your friends about q4e. If you use q4e/iam, report back how useful it
is, what objectives it should not address and what objectives which are
missing from the proposal should be considered.
Essentially... show you're there. Show if the proposal makes sense (note,
we're not actually talking about implementations at this point). Show if
there is a need for this kind of project in the Eclipse Foundation.
