Deploy Eclipse RCP based IDE to cloud [message #1837792] Sat, 06 February 2021 13:15 Go to next message

Hello,

Is there a way to migrate an eclipse RCP based IDE to work on the cloud?, if not is there any other platform similar to eclipse RCP that we can use to be able to deploy our IDE on the cloud and will require least effort?

Thanks in advance

You may try RAP. In theory you get "quickly" a web based application.

There has been a talk related to this topic on EclipseCon Europe 2019:

Also you can take a look at Eclipse Thea and Eclipse Che, which have share similar concepts with Eclipse RCP, though require more work to migrate.

Thank you for input

@Rolf Theunissen do you know what are pros and cons of Thiea and Che compared to RCP, and is eclipse Orion/Dirigible also a good option to migrate to?

I have never used these tools and don't know what the exact relation is between all of them. It seems that many can be used together, as Google is your friend:
