Editor's Note

Welcome to the second Jakarta EE newsletter. This time around, we focused on the technology side of things. We have great articles contributed by technical experts involved in the Jakarta EE community:
➜ Getting started with JCA Connectors
➜ Introducing Jersey to the Eclipse Community
 ➜ JAX-RS: A Standard for RESTful Microservices
 ➜ Jumpstarting Open Performance Testing

Don't forget to register for EclipseCon Europe, Oct 23-25 in Ludwigsburg, Germany to learn more about Jakarta EE and other Eclipse technologies. Some of the authors will even be speaking at the conference!

On a personal and professional note, I am leaving my position at this Eclipse Foundation this month, which means that this is my last time editing the Eclipse Newsletter. I won't even get to press the giant red send button at the end of this month to deliver it to your inboxes. It is with mixed feelings that I say goodbye to this newsletter that I started in February 2013. It certainly looks different from that first issue, and the fact its grown from 0 to almost 300,000 subscribers is something I’m proud of. The newsletter will go on without me and I look forward to seeing it grow and improve in the future.

Thank you for the great years!
