Nitin may not be on the PMC :)
but I think he expressed my understanding well. That exception was
for a specific period of time, for some specific components, and now all
components are equal, and any new feature gets the same review no matter
what component its from. Plus, there is no indefinite pre-approval. This
is similar to some cases we've had in the past, where some bug might have
been approved for, say, RC1, but for some reason didn't make it into the
build ... so, just because it was approved for RC1 doesn't mean it would
automatically be approved for RC2 and it should go through the review process
again (carefully explaining why it didn't make the deadline that was committed
to :)
But now you have me curious! ... which
exceptions were you wanting exceptions for?

I was under the impression that those were specific exceptions to the feature
freeze imposed after M6 and that the PMC review process applied to all
changes after RC0. But then I'm not on the PMC.

the PMC approval process?
