Hi,

In the recent Virgo 3.6.0.M01 release we upgraded Tomcat to 7.0.29 which supports WebSockets - you can try it out.

Best Regards

Bobby

Hi,

The development builds are still on 7.0.26. We are waiting on the Eclipse IP team for legal approval of the new Tomcat version. Until that is cleared we can't migrate the dev builds to 7.0.29.

Aside from that here is the link to our hudson jobs:  https://hudson.eclipse.org/hudson/view/Virgo/

Hi,

If I use the latest development build of Virgo, will that include Tomcat 7.0.27+? The about page was up  yesterday, but it seems to be down again. Could you provide me with a direct link to the builds?

Thanks,

Jonathan Pullano

Hi Jonathan,

AFAIK Web Sockets are available from Apache Tomcat 7.0.27 onwards. The latest Virgo release 3.5.0 runs on 7.0.26.

The latest plan in mind is to have Web Sockets directly in the 3.6.0 release which is scheduled for September 30th and will include Apache Tomcat 7.0.29. 3.5.1 will come out only in case there are critical bugs or security patches, so we consider it as a tentative release for now. This also means the Juno SR1 content won't include anything new. We'll probably update for SR2.

The latest release information is usually kept on the bottom of our about page, but last time I checked it was broken - I've notified the Eclipse web master.

Best Regards,

Bobby

Hi,

We are working on a project for which we have interest in Web Sockets. From these two links (http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php/m/890659/, http://dev.eclipse.org/mhonarc/lists/virgo-dev/msg01311.html), I gathered that Web Sockets will be available in 3.5.1, which is tentatively due on the Juno SR1 release train (i.e. Mid-August to Mid-September). Is this information still up to date, and accurate? Do you have a more precise date projection at this time?
