Re: [udig-users] Getting udig downloads and installing Ganyemede log4j-plugin

Hi Robert; I am afraid I personally don't know much about the uDig 1.1.x releases and we will have to move discussion back to the udig-users list.

The uDig 1.1.x does/did include support for community plugins - however you can refer to the quickstart for 1.1.x to confirm this:

It sounds like 52N has a new release of their core wps jars making use of GeoTools 2.5 or 2.6 - so the 52N plugin could be upgraded to work with uDig 1.2.

I am a bit confused about if you are using the udig application or the udig developer environment?

Cheers,
Jody

Hello Jody

Thank you for your answer.
I have now installed uDig Version: 1.1-RC14 and run into the following error, if I try to find additional features or check onto a newer version of uDig.

In uDig Version 1.2-RC3 I run in the following error:

I have setup the proxy and it really should work with.

But nothing works, neither Ganymede log4j version 0.9.1 is going to be recognized in the plug in folder  (there is no installation manger in the uDig) nor does the WFS- & WPS-Protocol pick up the GeoData at the GeoServer.

What might be the reason for? Is uDig in the eclipse environment not mature, yet?

With kind regards

Hello

I am trying to update my uDig installation online and download some additional plugins (especially I am looking for Ganymede log4j and 52North WPS-plugin). But I always get a network connection problem with “Unable to access http://udig.refractions.net/update/”. Does anybody know why that happens?

I am guessing you are trying to update a copy of uDig 1.1.x? The 52North WPS plugin has not been released for uDig 1.2 yet.
Jesse is probably the best person to ask about that update site.

I did check - the link you provide does work; but it redirects to:

I think the plugin is waiting 52N server components to upgrade to a recent version of GeoTools?

I tried to install “Ganymede log4j”. I know that the plugin folder gets not scanned, but installing with the Update Manger neither works (uDig doesn’t recognize it as a plugin). Does anybody know how to do that?

Robert there is a WPS plugin for uDig 1.2 based on some work that happened at Refractions. It is available as a community module that can be built from source; I actually have some time to work on it in the next couple of weeks and sent  a screen shot to the devel list a couple of weeks; thus far it is connecting to a 52North WPS server and a couple of others.
