   Hi,

   I'm using basic authentication with geoserver. It works fine with uDig. I have also tried to enable "https" but it seems that uDig doesn't manage to connect to the server. Anyway I'm not sure because I'm a newbie in the GIS world. Is uDig able to use "https"?

   Just in case uDig were not able to establish https connections, what is the best the way to implement this capabilitiy? (as a plugin, a patch).
