Re: [udig-users] Unable to apply a spatial Filter using CQL language in the Table View

Not from you specifically. I understood that Mauricio will have a look into the problem, and then I am just hoping some news were posted on this mailing list when the problem is detected/solved. As usual, sooner would be the best, but it seems that there are many problems on all the spatial statements in CQL ... and I guess it would take time ...

Jacques

Waiting for new from me? We talked about this in the uDig IRC meeting
yesterday:- http://udig-news.blogspot.com/2009/02/irc-logs-feb-6th.html

I am still not sure where the problem is on this one; mauricio was going to
have a look - let me know if you guys get stuck.

Jody

The problem is not related with the distance value or its unit, but with
the DWITHIN statement itself.

I am waiting further news from you so that I can check this on a fixed
version.
Thanks again for these answers. :-)

Sorry for the short reply (from my mobile).
The units in this _expression_ are completely useless as far as I know. You
can say 10 km or 10 m and it will amount to the same thing ... 10.
The actual number will be taken against the the raw geometry values; so if
they are in lat/lon you will need a distance measured in linear degrees or
something.

I have solved the problem a couple times as a programmer; but cannot
remember right now.

The other thing (my usual solution) is to convert the data into an equal
area projection measured in meters; and work form there (10km = 10,000 m).

Hope this helps,
Jody

Sorry, I do not really understand your answer ... do you advise me to
change the unit ?
I had no more chance with "DWITHIN(the_geom, POINT(2 48), 100000, meters)"

Do you have any working example using the DWITHIN statement ?
Thanks for your help,
Jacques

The 100 KM is not actually I'm km but are in the units of the data.

Hi,

I am able to run some "basic" filter, like LOCALIZED_NAME LIKE 'Casier %',
but I can not figure out how to apply a spatial filter using CQL language in
the Table view ? Here is the filter I would like to apply :
DWITHIN(the_geom, POINT(2 48), 100, kilometers)
- I followed example given here :http://udig.refractions.net/confluence/display/EN/Common+Query+Language#CommonQueryLanguage-SpatialRelationships
- "the_geom" is the column that contain spatial information

Any help appreciated.
Regards,
