[udig-users] Idea of using a local H2 Database as a useful file format.

Hi Shaun.

There are quite a few options for getting H2 going. You can talk to us (Camptocamp) or Jody (Refractions) or one of the myriad of Geotools developers to get the Geotools side done. Once the Geotools portion is done the uDig side is quite simple. I am not sure of the state of the H2 plugin as it stands but it probably should be back ported for uDig 1.1 unless you are willing to use uDig trunk.

FYI I am doing the last 1-2 critical bug fixes for uDig 1.1.

I believe that H2 can read and write but I'm pretty sure that it needs proper eventing and almost certainly requires work on the FID handling and geometry indexing.
The interesting part here Jesse is capturing the external key references as Associations, Shaun I have also proposed a hibernate-spatial idea for you to think about over of udig-devel.
