Hi Corrado,
the question is not trivial in my opinion. Udig misses a proper
project management.
The project is autosaved at every "move", so it is not really possible
to save a project. The menu entries you see are related to the layers.
i.e. you can save layeres that you modified.
The real problem of all this is that it is not possible to save
projects and send them to another guy to take a look at it.
Also when udig crashes it sometimes takes to hell also the workspace,
which holds the projects and everything is lost.

this could be a good SoC project?
