[udig-users] Re: 1.1-RC14 and ArcSDE checks out okay

Jody,

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you. I've been busy with other things.

I'm using ArcSDE 9.2, so the jars I'm using from the SDK are:
jpe92_sdk.jar
jsde92_sdk.jar

When trying to connect with Oracle Spatial, I'm getting an error in the logs that its trying to put together the connect string with <machine>:<port>:<username> instead of <machine>:<port>:<sid>. I haven't had the chance to nail down which field(JTextField) its grabbing for the <username> instead of the SID if thats what it really doing. Hopefully I'll get back to this by tomorrow. Thanks.

Aloha,
Richie

Richard I have been able to connect to ArcSDE using RC14, it looks like the jars being used were as follows:
- jsde_sdk-9.0.jar
- jsde_jpe_sdk-9.0.jar

I do not know which version of ArcSDE I was working against, it was simply made available to me for testing.

I'm trying to add layers from either an ArcSDE or Oracle Spatial source. When I try from Oracle Spatial, I go through the steps, connect to the database, but when I get to the "Resource Selection" screen, my only option is "Unable to recognize service, choose another"

When I try from an ArcSDE source, I get a "Connection parameters are invalid" error.

Any ideas? Oracle10g Spatial, ArcSDE 9.2, uDig 1.1-RC14

I new to this stuff (I'm a programmer), so I wouldn't doubt I'm just doing something stupid.

Aloha,
Richie
