Re: [udig-users] What is required in a mapserver-mapfile to display correct in Udig ?

Hi list,

I have set-up a mapfile which displays correct using Gaia3 (CarbonTools).
Nice. Want to email the capabilities document and we can look if anything is missing?
Yet, when I try to consult the file in Udig (and in qGIS too) I'm not able to get it on screen.
I assume you mean the capabilities file? The mapfile is just for mapserver; ie configuration.
Udig can see the layers that are within my WMS but I can't seem to add them to the project (blank screen).
Do you have the dimensions of your layers filled in correctly? Also is there a min or max scale set? uDig has the ability
to zoom to the correct scale to see something in that case ... give it a go.

Note care is really needed when filling in all this information; man MapServer instances out there can not be used by uDig because they are not configured correctly - usually this only shows up as a problem for WFS access.
Can someone tell me the necessary elements to include in a mapfile so that my WMS is correct?
I am afraid I am not the most experienced mapserver users; why not jump on #mapserver IRC and ask...
