However ...I tried with your sld cook book svg example .. and I got a difference! On mac the legend shows the svg icon; on linx32 the icon comes in as a white empty space.

It could be my upload failed; I did test both those items. Can you check in the about box? It does indicate the date in there somewhere.

In the linux 64bit version I see:

but 28th of July also isn't the one before this last.
No other date in the about box.
 I am confused.

Hi Jody, was quite busy and had the chance to try the udig for windows
on a 32 bit only now.
I don't have any splashscreen and also the svg can't be seen.
I downloaded the version of the 15th of August, which should be the
one we worked on in the weekend, right.

Did someone else have the same problems?

I gathered up and combined all previous 1.2.x release announcements, thanks
 to Mauricio for the review.
This is also published on the blog:

Sifting through email we are left with ...
 1) release
 notes (http://udig.refractions.net/files/downloads/udig-1.2.0.html)
 - Can I ask someone to read these over? Chances are we grab a more
impressive list of new things added over the course of 1.2.x development
 2) macosx installer
 - Jesse you were looking at this?
 - this can happen when it happens
 3) blog post
 - no volunteer yet
 - can be very simple
 4) press release
 - no volunteer yet
 - this could be the same as the blog post; invite Axios, Camp2Cap, Lisasoft,
Refractions to issue a press release and they can basis it on the blog post?
