Re: [udig-devel] Generic Tile plugin

I've tested it together with 1.2M6SDK and it works perfectly in my application. Great!

Just for your info, I downloaded the code and loaded it into udig M8,
and it works as it should. Very nice!
Going to show it at the next days meeting.

Andrea

Hi,
I am recently back from vacation and want to integrate the SOC work with
udig trunk ASAP. I am a little overwhelmed at the moment but will get to
this as soon as possible.
The code is on github: http://github.com/tosa/wmt if you want to take a look
before I have time.

Switching from the GeoTools list to the uDig list...
I've checked out the uDig trunk code, and was quite amazed by the number
of plugins it has.
I haven't heard from Jesse yet (or from his student), but I still have to
delve a bit deeper into the code anyway before I can safely say it is useful
for me.

I assume that the code you were talking about, is in the "catalog.wms"
plugin ?? If not, redirect me pls :-)

Sure;

I will need to dig up the details for you tomorrow; right now the code
is in uDig trunk and is used for our WMS-C support. A SoC student
extended this work to support many other tile formats; and his mentor
Jesse Eichar intends to bring it back into the project.

Jesse if we can find a home for this work in GeoTools my preference
would be to combine forces with Pieter here.

Jody,

when we talked in Sydney about raster-support and tyling services in the
Geomajas project, you said that geotools once had a module that read from
many different raster services, but was discarded again because noone
seemed
to care.
Would it be possible for me to have a look at it, and decide whether or
not
this would be a worhty addition to the Geomajas project, in which case we
could support it as a GeoTools module.

Thanks in advance,
