So there is some support for what you request but I have got it into a
fully reliable state as of yet for couple of reasons
First I will explain what there is and what the vision for it was.
I wanted to create a DND framework for dragging the selection from any
view to any other view. This mostly done. If a view configures it's
drag and drop with The udig drag and drop classes then the current
drag and drop extensions will work with that view.
There are still a few issues with the framework that I would like to
address. But it currently more or less works.
Now more for your point. There are two points with dragging from the
map that I want to address.
