Does that test the usage of the rootFolder attribute set through a real pom.xml file, as I would do as a regular user, or does that only prove that no tests fail (which may or may not help me at all, I don't

You can check my product's pom.xml here: 
 
when I launch mvn clean verify in my parent pom, wait for the product to be built, and then check it, there's still no root folder, even though I'm defining one.
