I got reminded that there is a policy on how to version an eclipse plugin.

Fine.

However, looking at some examples like m2e-extras from sonatype I noticed
that the version in the manifest once tagged is something like 0.13.0.20110622-1538.

How is that accomplished? It was 0.13.0.qualifier before tagging/release and magically transformed?

Using the release plugin no such thing can be accomplished out of the box...

Please explain to me how I can make this a reality.
