I hadn't thought of that (IRC bridge)! It's just a test server now though, so if we don't like it we don't have to use it.
About the account, I'm sure it will be using the Eclipse LDAP when (if) it's not a test server anymore.

Nonetheless we could setup a bridge or something between mattermost and irc to allow everyone to have their own work flow and still maintain some form of coherence.
