Dear Tang Xingpei,
We are happy to hear you've chosen ThreadX for your product and we thank you for the vote of confidence you're showing through making this choice!
In light of this, we were hoping you could provide assistance in the following areas:
1. What support can you provide that will help us confirm to our certification body that ThreadX has indeed achieved SIL4 certification?
ThreadX has obtained a certification from SGS TUV-Saar for achieving SIL4 while it was still under Microsoft's umbrella.
This has been stated publicly by Microsoft but also by us now, and it is showcased also in the user documentation accessible through the GitHub repository of the project (here's a link to that:
https://github.com/eclipse-threadx/rtos-docs)
We are currently in the process of transitioning the respective certification (for the 6.1.x versions of the components) to the Eclipse Foundation and for the new product name, Eclipse ThreadX.
We are hopeful this process will be completed by mid August.
2. Could you provide us with the SIL4 certification documents of ThreadX, including the certification certificate and the accreditation report?
As stated above, we are in the process of obtaining these documents (certificate and accreditation report) under the Eclipse Foundation stewardship and for the new product name Eclipse ThreadX and as soon as we have them we'll post more details about this on the
threadx.io website, on this mailing list and we'll also contact you directly to give you further instructions on how to obtain them.
3. How can we obtain the ThreadX code that has undergone and passed SIL4 certification?
Once the certifications are reissued, we will make a link with the associated code and publish this on the
treadx.io website as well.
We plan to do this for all the released and certified versions of the code from now on.
For this too, we'll contact you directly to give you further instructions on how to obtain them.
I'm adding you on our list for further direct contact and I'm also CCing my colleague, Frederic Desbiens, in this email so we can both keep track of these points and get back to you as soon as possible.
Again, we appreciate your trust in the Eclipse ThreadX product, your willingness to make use of it as part of your own product and we ask you for a bit more patience in getting the above-mentioned artefacts to you.
With thanks and kind regards,
Dana
