The GSoC 2026 Idea List is now available as a GitHub Discussion, which will be used to create an idea list for our application to GSoC 2026.
Learning from last year and suggestions from Google, I have added guidelines regarding the use of Generative AI, added more to the guidelines, etc. Please let me know if any adjustments are needed.
Following the suggestion from the community discussion, we are prioritizing frontend ideas or small, atomic backend tasks. As we plan significant backend changes this year, making major changes in the backend could result in rework.
Keeping this in mind, please feel free to add more ideas to the list. You can use the first comment as the template for creating the idea.
The deadline for the submission of applications to Google is 2nd of February (which is very near). I will move these ideas and Guidelines to the
https://eclipse.dev/sw360/ website and submit the application by the morning of 2nd Feb.
We are also looking for volunteer mentors and org admins. If you are interested, please reachout to me as soon as possible.
