Re: [sumo-user] max-num-vehicles trains

Petr,

AFAIK this is best achieved using a TraCI script. If you wish I might be able to dig out something we have used to keep the number of cars in the simulation within given limits while allowing public transport to drive as usual.

Hello,

while working with the SUMO simulator I am using the parameter:

<max-num-vehicles value="512"/>

According to the documentation, I understand that this is a global limit for the number of vehicles in the simulation. However, I would like this limit to apply only to road vehicles (cars, buses, trucks) and not to trains (vehicles with class rail).

My question is:
Is it possible to configure <max-num-vehicles> so that it only restricts road traffic but does not affect trains? Alternatively, is there a recommended approach to achieve this behavior?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards,
Petr
