Re: [sumo-user] Pedestrians exceeding user defined sidewalk speed limits

In the latest development version, speed limits are honored by pedestrians. You can download that version here:

Hi all,

I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on controlling pedestrian speeds.

I’m running a pedestrian model and want to capture the effects of slopes on pedestrians walking speeds. Based on the slopes of the terrain I’ve re-defined the maximum speed along sidewalks in the hope this will limit the speed at which people walk along them. However, I’ve found that pedestrians ignore the maximum speed limit values continuing to walk at 1.39m/s.

Does anybody know if it’s possible to ensure pedestrians walking along sidewalks do not exceed a specified speed limit?

Thank you in advance.

Kind regards,

Barry
