Re: [sumo-user] road type information

Usually, openstreetmap has some geometry information to capture the major curves of a road. If that data is lacking in your area, the next best thing is to obtain aerial images and adapt to redraw/modify the shape so it fits the image (https://sumo.dlr.de/docs/FAQ.html#how_can_i_get_satellite_aerial_background_images_for_my_simulation)
Note, that sumo models do not make use of road curvature to influence traffic behavior except for speed reduction while turning at intersections.

Hi All,

For a real road imported through openstreetmap,i would require information on type of road.. for e.g if it is straight ,or has curvature. Is this possible to generate through sumo?
Is there a way to know curvature radius of a road to judge roads between straight and curved

Thankyou
