There is no set distance. The decision to move to the turn lane (rather than treating it as an overtaking lane and keeping right while not overtaking) depends on

- the road speed limit

- the traffic density on both lanes

- the average speed on both lanes

- the vType attribute 'lcStrategic'

Is there a set distance that left turn lanes can be used?

I have a network where the left turn lane is the same length as the through lanes and I was wondering if there is a predefined distance that the vehicles turning left will switch to the left turn lane?
