It's not clear to me what kind of confirmation you seek. Removing stages and adding new stages is an intended way to modify person plans.

- use sumo-gui to check whether the person behaves as expected

- use vehroute-output and tripinfo-output to check the sequence of stages recorded for the person

If I have the below person plan, and I get persons from the vehicles when it is in the
busStop(=-1311863524), what I manage to let a person go off the vehicle
and go back to his first edge -256119176#1 is as below:

* remove remaining stages
* add stop stage
* add walk stage to the origin (edge -256119176#1)
* traci.simulation.finIntermodalRoute call
* and finally append returned edges

I'm working on it, I will really appreciate your confirmation.
