Hi Jordon,

traffic demand data is stored in a separate file and loaded on simulation startup either using the -r switch or referencing it in a sumocfg (config) file. For this reason, Netedit offers you the option to save the demand-oriented files using the menu entry File > Demand Elements > Save.

Hello Sumo Users,

I'm a new user trying to learn the ins and outs of SUMO, and I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction with regards to demand modeling.  I created a very simple, test network in NetEdit and tried to run in SUMOGui, but I received the error that the simulation ended at time 0.00 because all vehicles had left the simulation.  I understand this is because I hadn't modeled any demand, and that is what I'm struggling with.  After reading the wiki on demand modeling, I tried to create custom demand in NetEdit - I added routes and vehicles and tried again but got the same error, but it's almost like the test network didn't save this, or maybe it was incomplete somehow?  I also tried running randomtrips.py but got several errors, though I think these are more to do with my build of Python.  Can anyone offer some pointers on what I might be missing, or how to upload demand into SumoGui?  Any help would be VERY much appreciated.

With many thanks,

Jordon
