Re: [sumo-user] Waiting lane.

But I am using all kinds of vehicle types. Here i was just using cars to form an ideal situation. What's a better resolution if there is around 60 to 70 percent of 2 wheelers and a mix of others too including big vehicles like buses.

The difference was due to a bug triggered by sublane simulation on lefthand networks (https://github.com/eclipse/sumo/issues/5738)
You can download the patched binaries tomorrow at https://sumo.dlr.de/wiki/Downloads#SUMO_-_Latest_Development_Version (or just build from the github sources now).

Note, that the sublane model does not help the traffic flow with your scenario since you are only using passenger cars (no two-wheelers).
Note also, that the sublane model may waste some space when setting a lateral resolution that is not a divisor of the lane width (0.64 would work better in your case than 0.5).

Jakob

I am attaching the files i used. Can you take a look at it and let me know whether i missed something.

And when i calculate average delay in the junction using sumo its in late 200s and in meso it is early 100s. Is that large of a difference expected? If so, which one is more accurate?

I am not getting the equal queue length. I am stumped. Is there something I am missing! :/

If there is only one junction then I would expect the queues to have roughly even length. The easiest way to check this is to look at the vehicles in the gui but you could also analyze --netstate-output

What if there is only one junction.
And how can I find which lane a particular vehicle iswaiting during red time?

No, because subsequent junctions may induce (strategic) lane changing already at the current junction, especially when junctions are closely spaced.

If routes file is created by jtrrouter, and all the probability of turning to all the approaches are same and connections of all the approaches are similar, and flow is equal and stage durations where a stage is green for all directions in an approach are also equal shouldn't the queue dissipate equally everywhere?

This is mainly determined by the connections of that lane (vehicles move the the correct turning lane) and the usefulness of subsequent lanes for following the route (taking into account upcoming lane changes).
When multiple lanes are available, vehicles may change to the one with the shorter queue depending on the queue length their lane change parameters.

In a junction how does sumo decide which lane to wait in when the approach has it's in the red phase.
