[sumo-user] Intersection Controls

Hello,

I am having trouble finding a resource describing the rules SUMO uses to
ensure that crashes do not occur at intersections. We are studying
automated intersection control and need a better understanding to see how
it might affect the dynamics. Does anyone know where I can find this?
