Dear SUMO developers, My name is Markus, and I am a researcher at TU Dresden. I presented PyLiSuM, a Python implementation of the LiSuM middleware, at the SUMO User Conference 2026. I am writing to ask whether
PyLiSuM could be contributed to the SUMO project. Repository:
https://github.com/TU-Dresden-VPA/PyLiSuM PyLiSuM is a Python-based middleware for coupling SUMO with LISA+ traffic signal control. In addition to reproducing the main LiSuM workflow, I have extended it to support the reception
and processing of R.09 telegrams. Last year, I discussed the project with Dr.
Michael Behrisch. He suggested two possible integration options:
My preferred option would be the Git submodule approach, as this would allow me to continue maintaining PyLiSuM in our chair’s repository. Could you please confirm whether this work would be suitable as a contribution to SUMO? If so, I would appreciate your guidance on the next steps, including the preferred repository
