Hi,

if you have an old installation of SUMO and want to build SUMO 1.4 or a current daily shapshot the solution is
as root
  cd /usr/local/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/  # or where ever you have installed it
  rm -r sumolib*

I think setup-sumolib.py uses the version.py in build, which does not have a method gitDescribe

So the workaround seems for me to run the make twice, the first time with the -i option to ignore the error (and hope that there is a version.h file)
installed it, run the second make (which now builds the correct version.h file) and install it again.
