I think, that we are currently in some gold-rush atmosphere, AI is everywhere and everyone thinks, he needs to jump on the gold train at all cost.
Of course, AI is powerful and offers new possibilities and cannot be ignored, but we don't have to enter panic mode and have the pressure to also provide something quickly just because all others do it.
Jakarta EE should continue the same way as it has done over a long time and see what has proven itself in the real world and then standardize it for our ecosystem.

EXTERNAL SENDER: Be cautious with links and attachments!
I think we should consider what the role of Jakarta EE is... is it to standardize existing patterns and features, or is it to be innovative?
The generative AI world is moving so quickly, that I fear it may be too early for standardization at this stage... That being said, we should definitely be looking at what should be done in the (near) future, and make sure we properly coordinate with MicroProfile
(which is also looking into this area).

With the current situation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), we might need to reassess the direction of Jakarta EE updates.

Many known major companies have made significant strides in AI/ML, and I believe our community might need to consider how JakartaEE can adapt and grow alongside these advancements.
In light of the rapid evolution in the industry, we must ask ourselves:

What unique value does JakartaEE provide to new and existing users in the face of AI/ML developments?

How can we strategically incorporate AI/ML technologies into JakartaEE to enhance its capabilities and user experience?
While it's essential to remain innovative, it's equally important for Jakarta EE to chart its course and become a game-changer in AI/ML.

It would be great to take a pause, ponder and re-strategise on how Jakarta EE could be a real game changer to AL/ML within our niche.

Thanks, Willem!

We are finishing some UI revamp work but as soon as this is done we will move to other features and we will definitely count on your help :)

Hi everyone,
I’m happy to assist in creating some technical articles for usage examples of the Jakarta EE starter and generated projects. If we get the SOE right, it could drive more traffic to the starter.

Please feel free to reach out!. :)

 Kind regards,

This is awesome. Thanks for the data, Reza. I think in the future when we are able to provide usage examples and not just the project bootstrap we may attract more downloads/usage but these numbers make me happy already :)
Hi folks,
Attached is the usage metrics for the official Jakarta EE Starter and
graphs for each metric. Since we launched some time last year, we have
had 3.5K+ projects generated. While this is not stellar, it's OK.

Most folks are using Jakarta EE 10, Java SE 17 and the full platform.
There is still some usage of Jakarta EE 8 and Java SE 8. Core Profile
usage is pretty light. Docker usage is OK. Decent usage for the Web
Profile. The most popular runtime choices in order are: none (probably a
bunch of people just going with the default choice), WildFly, GlassFish,
 Payara, Open Liberty, TomEE.

 Thanks,

 Reza
