[sdv-wg] THE EV:ent, 7 to 10 September: charging software summit and EVerest hackathon

Hi all,

an invitation, with the disclosure up front that I am one of the organisers.

THE EV:ent is a charging software summit in Bad Schönborn near Karlsruhe on 7 and 8 September, followed by the EVerest community hackathon & maintainer meetup on 9 and 10 September. It is deliberately technical. Engineers presenting to engineers.

Why it might be relevant to this list: the vehicle and the charger meet at ISO 15118, DIN 70121 and Plug and Charge, and increasingly at MCS for trucks and at V2G. That boundary is where the interoperability pain actually shows up, and very few people sit on both sides of it. EVerest, the open source charger firmware stack under LF Energy, wrestles with the same themes you do in the vehicle: hardware in the loop, virtual validation, standards compliance, and now CRA.

If your software ends up talking to a charger, two days with the people writing the charger side is probably worth the trip.

The hackathon is co-located at our offices and close to full, so that one is first come first served.

Happy to answer questions on or off list.

Best,
-Marco

PS: If you are at ICNC in Berlin next week, we host an open source breakfast on Thursday 3 September, 8:00 to 10:30, at Orville's on Platz der Luftbrücke, a few steps from the ICNC venue. Pionix and S44 Energy co-hosting, so the EVerest and CitrineOS maintainers in one room. Sign up: https://luma.com/iff8idvt
